As most of
you know by now, the 2015 Ford Mustang is here. It sure caught the whole world
by surprise when Ford revealed it. While its reception has been mixed, I will
not focus on its looks. Even though it looks uglier than a disfigurement, this
post will focus on its competitors. First of all, I am ecstatic about a new Mustang.
The old Mustang has been showing its age for some time now and better yet, the new
Mustang will have proper suspension. So that’s it then, the new Mustang is the
complete muscle car package. Simply put, no. Frank Davis, Ford’s engineer, told
Jalopnik.com that the new Mustang used the BMW M3 and Porsche 911 as the
standard
There are copious
amounts of videos that show the old Mustang being beaten by all types of
vehicles on YouTube. Many auto enthusiasts blamed the solid rear axle for its inability
to keep up with the competition. The 2015 Ford Mustang will come standard with independent
rear suspension. While that’s good and dandy, it would be a stretch to say that
the new Mustang can beat the likes of the BMW M3 and Porsche 911.
More
recently, Motor Trend named the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S the best driver’s car. Winning
best driver’s car is a huge honor for any car, one, which I’m afraid, the new
Ford Mustang won’t be able to do. Why did Ford have to compare their cars to
German giants? Why not let your product speak for itself? The only car that has
lived up to its reputation is the new Corvette Stingray. If Ford compared their
new car to a Chevrolet Camaro or Dodge Challenger, everything would’ve been
fine. I’m sure the new Mustang will be capable of eating both of those cars,
but to compare it to automotive marvels, that’s inexcusable. Thanks to Ford,
the new Mustang has large shoes to fill, here’s to hoping Ford didn’t dig
themselves a grave.
